Klonsky presents at sport psychology conference

Dr. Bruce Klonsky of the Department of Psychology recently presented at the Association for Applied Sport Psychology's 35th Annual Conference, held virtually in October.

He was lead author on the project, “The Utilization of sport psychology consultants in Major League Soccer and the English Premier League.” It is part of on-going research program in sport psychology consultancy and collaboration with his colleague, Professor Alan Kornspan of the University of Akron (Ohio).

The pair have mentored many students in their research as they worked through various sports leagues to examine the use and beneficence of hiring sports psychologists for the teams. They have examined Major League Baseball, National Football League, National Basketball Association, National Hockey Leagues, and most recently, Major League Soccer.

Past Fredonia students involved in the research include Leah Palmer, Cody Grasso, Keegan Johnston, Matthew Linderman, Kyle Natwora and Ryan Richter.
