The Fredonia State Men's Hockey Team (3-2-0, 1-0-0 SUNYAC) travelled to Morrisville State (0-5-0, 0-4-0 SUNYAC) on Saturday night for its first conference action of the season. The Blue Devils are returning home with another victory after scoring the game-winning goal with seconds to play.

Morrisville opened the scoring early, just six minutes into the game. Jestin Somero converted for the Mustangs off an assist from Richard Hart.

That was all the scoring action the game saw until midway through the third period.

Fredonia State earned a man-up opportunity with just over 12 minutes to play. Jake Blackwell (Hamden, Conn.) converted the power play off the Ethan Kirbis (Clarence) helper to tie things up at 1-1.

It looked as though the teams were destined for overtime, but the Blue Devils pulled off the stunner. With three seconds left on the clock David Sudbrink (Nolensville, Tenn.) scored the game-winner from Matt Letmanski (Wheaton, Ill.).

Blackwell, Kirbis, Sudbrink, and Letmanski finished with a point a piece.

Bryce Witman (Reading, Pa.) led the Blue Devils with four shots, three coming in the third period.

Ryan Bailey (Anchorage, Alaska) had a stellar night going 11-15 on faceoffs. Antonio Demacopoulos (Hickory Hills, Ill.) took the majority of the team's faceoffs and went 17-28.

Logan Dyck (Calgary, Alberta) recorded 23 saves over 60 minutes in net for the Devils.

Fredonia State returns to action on Friday, Nov. 19 when they host Potsdam at 7 p.m.
