Maggie Calabrese, a senior from Lagrangeville majoring in Music Therapy, has been awarded the Christine K. Stevens Development Scholarship by the American Music Therapy Association.

The scholarship, valued at $599, supports the training of music therapy students in the use of percussion-based strategies through the research-based HealthRHYTHMS group empowerment drumming program. Two scholarships are awarded each year.

Remo Inc., a major manufacturer of drum kits, drumheads, drums and hardware, established the scholarship in honor of Ms. Stevens, an internationally acclaimed speaker, author and music therapist.
