The Music Industry program’s Student Record Label is hosting Open Mic Nights in April.

The Thursday events, slated for April 16 and 30 at 7 p.m., in Thompson Room W101, are free and open to the public.

The Fredonia Student Record Label has been holding Open Mic Nights approximately every other Thursday this semester to grow the connection between musicians on campus and the Music Industry program students, establish Thompson Room W101 as a performance venue on campus, and grow the school’s creative community.

Each event has been headlined by either an on-campus, or semi-local established band who perform sets after an hour and a half of open sign- up performances. All are welcome to perform.

The events are open to all vocalists, instrumentalists, songwriters, poets, and creative performers looking to share their talent in a supportive environment.

Participants may sign up to perform on a first-come, first-served basis using the sign-up sheet available at the door. All performance audio and photographs will be professionally recorded and sent back to participants after post-production, allowing performers to keep a high-quality recording of their work.

The Student Record Label encourages anyone interested in live performance to attend, perform, and connect with fellow artists. The Open Mic Nights aim to foster creativity and provide real-world performance experience for students.

Featured bands include Ed Croft + Tina Williams on April 16, and Aphaeho on April 30, a student band who also won Fredonia Battle of the new bands in 2024.
