Holiday tradition returns to SUNY Fredonia

After more than a year of unprecedented times, SUNY Fredonia is welcoming back a 50-plus year holiday tradition, the Hanging of the Greens, on Dec. 2 at 6 p.m. in the Williams Center.

Rakes at the ready; Fall Sweep to return Nov. 6

After a year’s hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic, SUNY Fredonia’s Fall Sweep is poised to once again draw an estimated 300 to 400 students on Saturday, Nov. 6, to rake leaves in residents’ yards in the surrounding area.

New student group to form to improve UP-student communication

University Police Chief Brent Isaacson and Student Association (SA) President Israel Ortiz are working together to create the new Student Advisory Group for Campus Safety to improve communication between students and University Police and help identify and resolve concerns, reduce crime and create mutual understanding.

Blue Devil Spirit Week slated for the first week in December

Senior Class President Deoniss Jackson has announced that Dec. 2 through 6 will be Spirit Week on the campus of SUNY Fredonia. The class is looking for all departments to be involved with the effort, including faculty and staff.

Divine Sound Gospel Choir, dancers to present fall concert

The Divine Sound Gospel Choir of Fredonia will present the “Claiming My Victory Concert,” an evening of beautiful music and worship, on Saturday, Nov. 16, at 6 p.m., in the Williams Center Multipurpose Room.

State Senate candidate meets students on campus

Austin Morgan, a 22-year-old running for the 57th New York State Senate seat in a special election in November, visited the Fredonia campus on Oct. 3 to answer questions from students and guests about what it's like to run for political office at a young age.

Ice cream, superhero film launch Welcome Week

An ice cream social will get the fall semester’s Welcome Week off to a cool (and delicious) start on Saturday, Aug. 24, at the Williams Center patio. Students can build their own sundae from 1 to 4 p.m.
