Pellechia earns SUNYAC Title

Freshman Cara Pellechia from Rochester, N.Y. (Hilton High School), cleared 3.40m (11-1 ¾) in the pole vault to earn the SUNYAC Title on Feb. 24 during the conference Championship Meet at SUNY Brockport. After missing her first try at 3.05m, Pellechia cleared her next four heights all on her first try. She was unable to clear 3.50m in her next three tries.

Kira Davidson also earned a point for the Fredonia State team. She finished in eighth place in the triple jump with a distance of 10.06m (33' 0 ¼ '').

The women's distance medley relay comprised of Erin Cool, Evelyn Smith, Vanessa Ryhal, and Battaglia also competed. They finished in sixth place in a time of 14:02.78, earning three points for the team.

Ally Battaglia finished 16th in the 5000m run in a time of 20:30.03.

Marisa Stravino was 15th in the weight throw 12.19m (40' 0'').

The Fredonia State baseball team extended its win streak to four games with 10-4 and 5-4 wins over visiting Hilbert College on Monday. Christian Pagano connected for a two-run homerun in Game 1, his third in as many games. Alex Gannon added a two-run blast of his own in the opener.

Day 2 results at Cortland

The 4x100 relay team took third place, and turned in a AARTFC qualifying time on the second day of the Cortland Classic on Saturday. Jacob Winn -- a member of the relay team -- also turned in a third place in the finals of the 100m dash.
