Experience five pianos performing in sync on classics, pop hits, movie suites and more with the opening DFT Pops concert.

The Michael C. Rockefeller Arts Center presents “The 5 Browns: The Edge of the World” on Saturday, Sept. 20 at 7:30 p.m. in King Concert Hall.

The 5 Browns, who performed at Rockefeller for the 2021 Christmas pops event, have been mesmerizing audiences for more than two decades.

The Juilliard-trained piano quintet, who are Steinway artists, return now with an engaging and accessible new program that they’ve titled “The Edge of the World.” The program is inspired by the primitive concept of a flat Earth. What lies at the edge of everything? If we traveled to the edge, would we fall off?

Tickets for the concert are available online 24/7 at fredonia.edu/tickets. Tickets may also be purchased on Monday, Wednesday or Friday by phone at (716) 673-3501 or in person at the Fredonia Ticket Office in the Williams Center.

At the heart of this program is Nico Muhly’s “The Edge of the World,” which was written specifically for The 5 Browns.

Also included in the program are Mars, Neptune, and Jupiter from Gustav Holst’s “The Planets;” the finale of Mozart’s “Jupiter” symphony; a journey over the rainbow with a suite of themes from the film “The Wizard of Oz;” and the beloved Beatles classic, “Blackbird.” The program concludes with an explosive version of the classic skeleton romp “Danse Macabre” by Camille Saint-Saëns.

People magazine has dubbed The 5 Browns as the “Fab Five” while the New York Post stated “five pianos and 50 fingers add up to the biggest classical music sensation in years.”

“The 5 Browns: The Edge of the World” is sponsored by WDOE and 96 KIX Country as part of the 2025-26 Lake Shore Bank Season at Rockefeller Arts Center.
