Pitcher named Basketball Athlete of the Week

The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) selected Fredonia's Katie Pitcher the PrestoSports Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week, as posted on the SUNYAC website on Jan. 24.
Pitcher scored 15 or more points in all four SUNYAC games during the week of Jan. 27 as the Devils went 3-1 in conference play. She shot 61 percent from the floor (25 of 41). She was 15 of 19 (79 percent) from the line. She scored 15 points in both games vs. Plattsburgh. Against Potsdam, she scored 19 and 16 points in a pair of games. She also averaged 4.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game. She is now averaging 14.6 points per game and 5.9 rebounds per game.
