Polowy honored with PrestoSports Women's swimming and diving weekly award

The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected McKayla Polowy from Fredonia and Taylor Williams from Cortland as its PrestoSports Women's Swimmer and Diver of the Week respectively.

Polowy had three, first-place finishes against Geneseo and Grove City on Saturday. She won the 1,000-yard freestyle in 11:08.68, the 200-yard freestyle in 2:02.31 and the 500-yard freestyle in 5:27.72.

Williams finished second in 1-meter diving with a score of 245.50 points and third in 3-meter diving with a score of 256.35 points in Cortland's dual-meet loss at Ithaca College Saturday.

The Fredonia State baseball team extended its win streak to four games with 10-4 and 5-4 wins over visiting Hilbert College on Monday. Christian Pagano connected for a two-run homerun in Game 1, his third in as many games. Alex Gannon added a two-run blast of his own in the opener.

Day 2 results at Cortland

The 4x100 relay team took third place, and turned in a AARTFC qualifying time on the second day of the Cortland Classic on Saturday. Jacob Winn -- a member of the relay team -- also turned in a third place in the finals of the 100m dash.
