School of Music Associate Professor Jill Reese gave four professional development sessions as headliner presenter at the annual Michigan Music Educators Association’s General Music Fall Workshop on Oct. 18 at Hope College, Hope, Mich.

Practical sessions presented by Dr. Reese were: “Promoting Lifelong Music Enjoyment with Ukulele,” “Navigating the Whole and the Sum of the Parts,” “Excursions Along the Path Less Traveled” and “Uke and Strum (You Can Strum!).”

The sessions were related to Reese's recent book publication through GIA Publications and recent research regarding community ukulele groups and lifelong music making. Workshop attendees were preservice and practicing general music teachers.
