Ross Conti to receive ‘Business Person of the Year’ award

Ross Conti, of Darwin’s Health Club, will be honored by the Business Club at the State University of New York at Fredonia as the recipient of its Business Person of the Year award at a dinner on Sunday, April 7, 1 p.m., at the Clarion Hotel, 30 Lake Shore Drive East, Dunkirk. 

The award, now in its 41th year, recognizes local business professionals for their hard work and dedication to the community. Darwin’s, located at 47 Water St., Fredonia, offers a wide range of equipment as well as personal trainers and fitness classes and has operated for more than 20 years. 

Bradley Meyers, chief of the Village of Fredonia Police Department, will be the keynote speaker. 

The award program is open to the public and also counts towards speaker points for Fredonia business students. Menu choices are spinach stuffed chicken with Alfredo, French dip steak and pasta primavera, along with salad and dessert. 

Tickets, at $22, are available at the Fredonia Ticket Office, located in the Williams Center, and may also be obtained by calling 716-673-3501, by Friday, March 29.  Business-formal attire is expected.
