The Fredonia State Women's Soccer Team (6-2-1, 1-0-0 SUNYAC) shutout Buffalo State (2-6-0, 0-1-0 SUNYAC) to kick off its SUNYAC schedule. The Blue Devils held the Bengals to three shots on the way to a 5-0 victory.

Bri Grazen (Lancaster, N.Y.) and Katie Sellers (Glenmont) connected twice within two minutes to put Fredonia up 2-0 in the first half. The first goal came in the 33rd minute when Grazen passed a ball from the right wing to the top of the 18, finding a streaking Sellers.

Just under two minutes later, Sellers finished a goal line pass from Grazen to close out the scoring for the half.

The second half saw three more goals from the Blue Devils, with as many goal scorers.

In the 52nd minute Izzy Audette (Ballston Spa) took advantage of a set piece sending a bending ball into the upper right corner from 25 yards out. Minutes later Sellers got herself back in the mix, volleying a rebound off the Bengals goalkeeper into the back of the net. Ten minutes later, the scoring concluded off a Blue Devils corner kick; Gabby Alston (Niskayuna) put home an Audette assist.

Sabrina Suriani (Manlius) played all 90 minutes in net and recorded one save.

As a team, Fredonia State earned 16 corner kicks and recorded 33 shots.

The Blue Devils will return to action on Friday, Oct. 1 Cortland.
