Jada L. Dean
Jada L. Dean has received a $2,500 scholarship from the American Red Cross through the SUNY Challenge Scholarship Award program.
She assisted in volunteering and recruiting volunteers for the blood drives held on campus during the 2025-2026 academic year. As president of Delta Phi Epsilon, Jada was instrumental in getting her sorority to volunteer to ensure the blood drives ran smoothly. She also assisted in marketing the blood drives campus-wide to ensure that SUNY Fredonia had a great donor turnout.
Jada is a senior, pursuing concurrent degrees as a B.F.A. major in Dance and B.A. major in Political Science, and has a 3.42 cumulative GPA. She also served as Vice President of Equity and Belonging in Delta Phi Epsilon. She noted that her "long-term goal is to attend law school and build a career advocating for others in the legal sphere, all whilst simultaneously continuing my career as a professional dancer." Jada added, "I am so grateful to receive the aid this scholarship provides and will work toward giving back to the community that supported me."
Catherine Orr, donor relations manager for the American Red Cross of Western New York, has been very pleased with Fredonia's commitment and turnout for donating blood. It is a direct result of students being engaged and interested in important initiatives that serve others.
Division of Finance and Administration Administrative Assistant Rhonda Gominiak co-led and coordinated the campus blood drives.
