The Social Work program’s annual field practicum celebration highlighted achievements of the 2024-2025 academic year.
Student practicum completion, agency research and community field instructors who serve students were all recognized at a program in the Williams Center Horizon Room on May 5.
Students presented posters on their agency-based research projects. Each student was recognized with a gift from the field practicum program and the National Association of Social Workers-New York State/New York City's Western Division. Certificates of recognition were awarded to community field instructors.
Culminating the event was presentation of the Growth Award. Students selected amongst their peers the person they thought had grown the most throughout the Social Work program. Reyna Reisner, a senior Social Work major from Olean, NY, who was placed with the Counseling Center at SUNY Fredonia, was the recipient of this year's award.
Social Work Field Coordinator Briana Postle oversaw all aspects of the field practicum celebration. Social Work Program Director Michael Clarkson-Hendrix, Department of Sociocultural and Justice Sciences Interim Chairperson Mary Carney and Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Judith Horowitz attended the program.
