Update:

These meeting are cancelled until further notice as of March 16, 2020.

Support group meetings for stroke and head injury survivors and family members will resume this spring at the Henry C. Youngerman Center for Communication Disorders at Fredonia.

A typical group meeting includes activities to help stroke and head injury survivors use compensatory strategies to improve communication skills and provides educational information and an opportunity to socialize and share experiences. Light refreshments will be provided.

Meetings are held at 3 p.m. in Thompson Hall Room E148. The first meeting will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 18. Additional sessions are scheduled on March 3 and 24, April 7 and 28, and May 5. There is no fee to attend meetings.

The Youngerman Center recognizes that there are individuals in the community whose insurance benefit for therapy has been exhausted but their hopes for improvement have not. Contact Julie Williams, coordinator, 716-673-4618, for more information about attending the group.
