The Henry C. Youngerman Center for Communication Disorders on the campus will resume offering support group meetings for stroke and head injury survivors and family members during the fall semester.

A typical group meeting includes activities to help stroke and head injury survivors use compensatory strategies to improve communication skills and provides educational information and an opportunity to socialize and share experiences.

Group meetings will be held in Thompson Hall Room E148 at 3 p.m. on the following Tuesdays: Sept. 19, Oct. 3 and 17; Nov. 7 and 28; and Dec. 5.

Light refreshments will be provided. Meetings are free and open to stroke/head injury survivors and their families.

The Youngerman Center recognizes that there are individuals in the community whose insurance benefit for therapy has exhausted but their hopes for improvement have not.  Please contact Julie Williams, coordinator, at (716) 673-4618 or (716) 673-3203, for more information about attending the group.
