Two faculty in the School of Business – Associate Professor Lisa M. Walters and Professor Linda A. Hall – in conjunction with Dr. John D. Grigsby of Thomas Jefferson University, have published their research into the impact of COVID-19 on public accountancy.

The outlet for the research is the Journal of Applied Business and Economics, a journal listed by the Australian Business Deans Council.

The study explored atypical knowledges, skills and abilities experienced by accounting firms which were forced to retool during tax season as a result of the COVID-19 shutdowns in March 2020. Recommendations are made with regard to such KSAs (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities) in terms of accountancy professional development and academic preparation.
