President Stephen H. Kolison congratulates a 2023 graduate at Commencement in Steele Hall.

Commencement 2024 at SUNY Fredonia will include ceremonies at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, in the Steele Hall arena, combining undergraduate and master’s degree and advanced certificate graduates.

SUNY Fredonia will have live streaming video of both Commencement ceremonies. There will be a link to connect from the university’s home page. Complete Commencement information is available on the website.

The keynote speakers are Fredonia alumni including Reginal Spiller, ’74, who is President and CEO of Azimuth Energy, LLC, and CEO of its subsidiary Azimuth GIS-E, for the morning ceremony, and Tim Zulawski, ’98, who is President of AMB Sports and Entertainment, for the afternoon ceremony.

Senior Class President EJ Jacobs will speak at both ceremonies and the Lanford Presidential Prize from the Oscar and Esther Lanford Endowment of the Fredonia College Foundation will be awarded to Patience Glatt during the morning ceremony. College Council Chair Frank Pagano will offer greetings at both ceremonies. Opening and closing reflection readers include Brianna Domenica Noviello, Chloe Kowalyk, Madison Lee Agen and Amy Williams. Dr. Greg Gibbs will welcome the graduates to the Fredonia Alumni Association.

Music groups performing include the Commencement Wind Ensemble and Commencement Wind Symphony, under the direction of Dr. Paula Holcomb, and the Fredonia Chamber Choir, under the direction of Dr. Vernon Huff. Candidates for graduation Alyssa Santiago will sing the national anthem at the morning ceremony, and Elizabeth Davis, at the afternoon ceremony.
