The Henry C. Youngerman Center for Communication Disorders at the State University of New York at Fredonia will offer support group meetings for stroke and head injury survivors and their family members during the spring semester in Thompson Hall Room E148.

A typical group meeting includes activities to help stroke and head injury survivors use compensatory strategies to improve communication skills and provides educational information and opportunities to socialize and share experiences. Light refreshments will be served.

Individual sessions, all beginning at 3 p.m., will be held on the following dates: Tuesday, Feb. 20; Tuesday, March 5 and 19; April 2 and 16; and May 7.

Meetings are free and open to stroke/head injury survivors and their families.

The Youngerman Center recognizes that there are individuals in the community whose insurance benefit for therapy has exhausted but their hopes for improvement have not. Please contact Julie Williams, coordinator, (716) 673-4618 or (716) 673-3203, for more information about attending the group.
