It happens every year: you get to campus and you realize you forgot something. It may be a toothbrush. It may be the tuition check.
Whatever it may be, you’ll need answers, and you’ll need them fast. The SUNY Fredonia Office of Media Relations has compiled the list below to help expedite the process.  Have a great fall semester!

Emergencies:
Dial 911 or call University Police at 716-673-3333.

First day of classes:
Classes begin on Monday, Aug. 28.

Moving in:
The dorms will open on Saturday, Aug. 26 at 9 a.m. Freshmen and transfer students should plan to move in as early as possible in order to attend the orientation, advising and registration sessions scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. Please pick up your orientation packet in the Williams Center!

SUNY ID Cards and Meal Plan Selection:
ID Cards and meal plans will be issued in the FSA Office on the first floor of Gregory Hall on Saturday, Aug. 26 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Registration:
New students will receive an orange sheet in their orientation packet with the time and location of their advising and registration session. These sessions will be held on Sunday, Aug. 27 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

New student convocation:
The new student convocation begins at 3 p.m. in King Concert Hall and will emphasize how you can “Be A Part From The Start” here at SUNY Fredonia. If this is your first year at SUNY Fredonia, you are obligated to attend this event. The new student picnic will be held at 5 p.m. in Steele Hall, and a special Welcome Week event will take place at 7 p.m. in the Williams Center.

Bookstore
The campus bookstore is now located in University Commons and will be open on Saturday, Aug. 26 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Sunday, Aug. 27 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Monday, Aug. 28 to Thursday, Aug. 31 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Friday, Sept. 1 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Admissions:
Any questions regarding admissions can be directed to the Admissions Office at 716-673-3251 or by emailing admissions.office@fredonia.edu.

Billing questions:
Need to know about tuition payments, the cost of meal plans, the price of withdrawal, where to pay a parking ticket or when that refund check is coming? Contact the Office of Student Accounts at 716-673-3236.

Financial Aid:
The Office of Financial Aid is located in 215 Maytum Hall and is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the summer and 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the academic year. Answers to a wide variety of questions can be found online at www.fredonia.edu/finaid. To speak directly with a financial aid representative, please call 716-673-3253.

Where to eat:

  • Breakfast and brunch will be served on Saturday, Aug. 26 from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Marketplace at Erie Dining Hall. Dinner will be offered from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at The Marketplace or at Connections Food Court in the Williams Center.
  • On Sunday, Aug. 27, breakfast will be available from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at The Marketplace and lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at The Marketplace and Connections. A new student picnic will be held on Sunday, Aug. 27 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Steele Hall.
  • Regular hours resume on Monday, Aug. 28. Connections: 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.; The Marketplace: 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.; Cranston Marche: hours TBA.

    Starbucks:
    Yes, it’s open. Visit the store for hours.

Fitness Center:
The Dods Hall Fitness Center will be open beginning Monday, Aug. 28 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. The center is closed for classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Weekend hours are Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. The natatorium will also open on Monday, Aug. 28. Hours are pending.

The Hospital Locator, a new app designed for the iPhone that lets you locate the nearest hospital, has been developed by Alim Darmenov, a sophomore Computer Science major, under the supervision of SUNY Distinguished Professor Junaid Zubairi.
