Fredonia Wind Ensemble to perform a concert of classics

The Fredonia Wind Ensemble, directed by Dr. Paula Holcomb, will present a concert in King Concert Hall in the Rockefeller Arts Center on Sunday, March 4, at 4 p.m. The concert is free and open to all students, faculty/staff and general public.

The group will be joined by Fredonia Concerto Competition winner and clarinetist Guangzhao Huang. Hailing form Shenzhen, China, Huang will perform the Artie Shaw classic, “Concerto for Clarinet.” Additionally, the group be performing arrangements by Gustav Holst, Michael Torke, Reynaldo Hahn and Karel Husa.

The Fredonia Wind Ensemble features the most advanced wind and percussion players the school has to offer, dedicated to showcasing the finest pieces from all musical periods. The group varies in size and instrumentation based on the music being performed in order to effectively provide the most inclusive experience to their audience.
