Gallery exhibit at Technology Incubator featuring pieces by Fredonia students
The Fredonia Technology Incubator will exhibit works by State University of New York at Fredonia students Michael Fridmann and Heather Radford in its art gallery from Monday, March 14 through Friday, April 22.
The ongoing show can be viewed during regular gallery hours at 214 Central Ave, Dunkirk, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. An opening reception is slated for Monday, March 14 from 4 to 6 p.m.
“We are pleased to host this exhibition featuring the talent of our students at Fredonia,” said Incubator Director Chuck Cornell. “As a mixed-use business incubator focusing on arts- and technology-based businesses, featuring talented artists at our facility adds great value to the community and our business clients.”
Radford’s pieces feature the use of paper making, sculpture, printmaking, and book arts to utilize to raise questions about information disseminations, memories and a sense of place. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Visual Arts and New Media: Sculpture at Fredonia. Fridmann, who is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Visual Arts and New Media, uses colors, tones, and shapes as a minimal vocabulary, and contrasts simple elements with ambiguous imagery.
The Fredonia Technology Incubator is operated under the oversight of the university. It promotes economic growth in Western New York by supporting entrepreneurship and the development of new, innovative companies into successful business ventures. Business services, support, networking and educational opportunities for startup businesses are provided. The art gallery is operated by Barbara Racker, director of the Marion Art Gallery in the Rockefeller Arts Center on campus.
