Rockefeller Arts Center at SUNY Fredonia
Your Stage Awaits.
You've trained for this. Now imagine the spaces where your training becomes performance.
Rockefeller Arts Center is one of the most exceptional fine arts facilities in the entire SUNY system — three theatres, a 1,200-seat concert hall, galleries, and professional-grade studios, all on one campus. This is a place where students work.
King Concert Hall
Step onto a stage 60 feet wide. Look out at 1,145 seats. Feel the weight of a room built for serious performance.
King Concert Hall is where major ensembles perform, where professional orchestras take the stage, where the standard is set high — because that's what prepares you for a career. A hydraulic orchestra pit, world-class acoustics, and a historic Schlicker pipe organ with over 2,400 pipes make this one of the most impressive concert venues in the region. This is where you learn what it means to fill a room.
Marvel Theatre
Widely regarded as one of the best-designed small theatres in upstate New York, Marvel Theatre is where the Department of Theatre and Dance does its most ambitious work.
The 369-seat proscenium house has hosted the Limon Dance Company, the Paul Taylor Dance Company, and Ohio Ballet — and the next generation of performers who will stand on those same boards is sitting right where you are. A 40-foot proscenium, a 58-foot fly loft, 38 counterweight line sets, and a hydraulic pit for a full orchestra of 43: Marvel gives you the tools professionals use, because you're training to be one.
