Start Your Fredonia Application

All First-Year, Transfer, and International students interested in Theatre programs at Fredonia must complete both:

  1. The university application, and
  2. A departmental audition or portfolio review.

You do not need to be admitted to the university before auditioning, but acceptance by both the university and the department is required before enrolling in a BFA program.

Audition or Portfolio Required

  • Acting (BFA)
  • Musical Theatre (BFA)
  • Theatrical Production & Design (BFA)

No Audition Required

  • Theatre Arts (BA) — A flexible theatre degree focused on performance, production, theatre studies, and creative collaboration.

Audition and Interview Information

Audition and interview dates for the upcoming cycle will be posted as soon as they are announced.

  • Auditions and interviews are offered both in person and remotely.
  • Applicants are encouraged to submit materials early to allow time for faculty review and scheduling.
  • Students not accepted into a BFA program may re-audition one additional time.
  • Transfer students should audition before the semester they plan to enroll.
  • Most BFA applicants complete their application through Acceptd.
  • Most transfer students complete BFA programs in a minimum of three years.

Fees

  • Department audition/interview fee: $30
  • Acceptd application fee: $35
  • Information on applying for a fee waiver from Acceptd.

Audition fees are non-refundable and required before audition dates and times are confirmed.
