AfterEllen: Works the lesbian/bi pop culture beat, with a fun, feminist perspective on film, television, music, books, and sports. The site covers topics in lesbian/bi lifestyle, like sex, dating and coming out. They also conduct celebrity interviews, film reviews, TV recaps, original videos. Founded in 2002, AfterEllen.com became the "largest and most comprehensive website dedicated to the representation of lesbian/bi women in popular culture."
American Association of University Women: Oldest group in the country devoted to gender equity for women and girls with focus on education. For information on membership, contact Jan McVicker (Mcvicker@ait.fredonia.edu). Anyone with a bachelor's degree is eligible to join.
The Association of African Women Scholars (AAWS) invites new members, announces an upcoming conference as well as several publications in the field. Membership in the association is open to African women and men everywhere committed to "engendering and promoting scholarship in all disciplines in African Women's Studies." Individuals who are not of African descent can join the association as associate members. Contact the group for dues and other info.
- The AAWS has a discussion group on the Internet: send a note to LISTSERV@LISTSERV.IUPUI.EDU with the message SUBSCRIBE AFWOSCHO [YOUR NAME] and it is open to members and non-members.
- The AAWS also has embarked on an important initiative, "Bridges across Activism and the Academy" by publishing "The African Women Bibliographies: A Global Project" that will encourage and facilitate research on women of African descent. Moxie Magazine: MOXIE Magazine, founded by Emily Hancock (author of The Girl Within), is hardly an ordinary magazine. MOXIE is being produced, written by and targeted for 20-something women who want more out of a magazine than fashion, beauty and ten tips on how to get the man.

National Women's Health Center: A national clearinghouse for information and resources about women's health. Their primary goal is "to educate healthcare consumers and empower them to make intelligent decisions. We do this by providing you with easy-to-understand and easy-to-reach information and services."
National Women's Studies Association: Supports and promotes feminist/womanist teaching, learning, research, and professional and community service at the pre-K through post-secondary levels and serves as a locus of information about the inter-disciplinary field of Women's Studies for those outside the profession.

I AM: Trans People Speak: I AM: Trans People Speak is a project to raise awareness about the diversity that exists within transgender communities. It gives a voice to transgender individuals, as well as their families, friends, and allies.

Victorian Women's Writer Project: Their goal is "to produce highly accurate transcriptions of works by British women writers of the 19th century, encoded using the Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML). The works, selected with the assistance of the Advisory Board, will include anthologies, novels, political pamphlets, religious tracts, children's books, and volumes of poetry and verse drama. Considerable attention will be given to the accuracy and completeness of the texts, and to accurate bibliographical descriptions of them."
