About Interdisciplinary Studies
Undergraduate Interdisciplinary Studies at Fredonia
The various Interdisciplinary Studies programs fall under the supervision of the Associate Dean for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Dr. Carmen Rivera. Dr. Rivera serves as adviser to the undergraduate self-design students and unofficial dean to the undergraduate students who are in the various programs. She assists the coordinators whenever possible, and the Office of the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences financially supports the many programs offered throughout the year. The faculty who serve as coordinators advise the students, control curriculum, and recruit affiliated faculty with specialized expertise to teach. The coordinators also provide programming for the students through such activities as guest lectures, award competitions and ceremonies, newsletter production, social events, community service, student clubs, and internship opportunities.
Graduate Interdisciplinary Studies programs are housed in the Office of the Associate Provost for Graduate Studies and Research. All graduate students interested in Interdisciplinary Studies should contact the Graduate Office at 716-673-3808.
