Alumni and Friends online community portal is launched

portal bannerSUNY Fredonia has launched FREDConnect — a special social networking online service exclusively for SUNY Fredonia graduates and friends.  FREDConnect allows alumni of Fredonia (as well as faculty, staff, seniors and other university supporters) to find long-lost friends, catch up with favorite faculty members, stay up-to-date on campus events and alumni reunions, and start or participate in a variety of discussion groups.

Even before it was officially announced this week, the online community had registered more than 250 people, mostly alumni.

It’s all part of a fully re-designed website (https://www.fredonia.edu/alumni) whose content has been revamped with real alumni needs at the forefront. Need some career assistance? It’s available at no cost to every Fredonia grad at any age. Got a big life change you’d like to tell your classmates about? Submit a Class Note, update your records or post a photo. Want to post a job? Ask for an intern? Buy some swag? Request a transcript? Become a mentor? It’s all right there.

We’ve also included a new online giving tool (www.fredonia.edu/give), allowing you to support Fredonia more easily than ever. Now donors can help fund specific scholarships or causes of their choice right from their computers — and receive instant gift receipt confirmation via e-mail. You can select from a menu of more than 500 funds or go directly to a department or area of interest. Donors can even split their gifts among multiple funds and choose recurring giving options (bi-weekly, monthly, etc.) made via credit card, making your giving experience as comfortable as possible. No passwords or complicated registrations are required. All you need is an e-mail and a mailing address, and our safe and secure system will take care of the rest.

We truly hope you find this new alumni website to be chock full of meaningful information so that you’ll visit often, tell your friends and stay involved in all things Fredonia — a place you can always call home.
