Arnavut co-chairs international clean energy conference

Ziya Arnavut, professor and chair of the Department of Computer and Information Sciences, served as the co-general chair of the 16th International Conference on Clean Energy, held May 9 to 11, at Famagusta, Cyprus.

At the conference, scientists discussed two global problems for humanity: the depletion of fossil fuels and overcoming global warming issues with clean, sustainable energy solutions. A total of 90 papers and 35 poster presentations were selected for presentation from among 270 that were submitted.

Eastern Mediterranean University hosted the conference with assistance from the State University of New York at Fredonia and the University of Miami.
