2019-2020 Campus Closings and Paycheck Mailing

With some exceptions, campus buildings will be closed effective close of business Friday, Dec. 20 and will reopen Thursday, Jan. 2, 2020.

Human Resources will make alternate work site arrangements for employees requesting same (except faculty). UUP-represented Professionals and Classified staff must notify their supervisors and Human Resources (HR) in writing if they wish such an assignment. HR will notify the employee of their work location after arrangements have been made. Such requests should be received in HR no later than Friday, Dec. 13.

Campus and Community Children’s Center

The Campus and Community Children’s Center will be closed for families from Tuesday, Dec. 24 to Wednesday, Jan.1, 2020, and reopening Jan. 2, 2020.

Central Receiving/Stores

Open: Normal Hours – December 23, 26, 27, 30, 31

There will be no deliveries to campus buildings during the shutdown.

Credit Union

Open:

Dec. 24 and 31, 9 a.m. - Noon

Dec. 26 and Jan. 2 - 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Dec. 27 and 30, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Closed:   Dec. 25 and Jan. 1, 2020            

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

EAP will be closed Dec. 21 – Jan. 1, 2020.  Please call 716-673-3586 for instructions, if service is necessary during the break.

Facilities Services

Facilities Services will have minimal maintenance and custodial staff during this period. There will be limited snow plowing of parking lots and walkways and limited snow shoveling at building entrances. Non-essential parking lots will not be plowed during the evenings and nights. In emergencies, please contact University Police (ext. 3333).

Faculty Student Association (FSA) Services

The University Bookstore and Convenience Store hours will be:

Dec. 23, 24, 26, 27 and 30; Jan. 2-17   9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Dec. 25, 31 and Jan. 1, 2020 - Closed

Starbucks Coffee hours will be:

Dec. 22 - 24, 26-31; Jan. 2-5    9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Jan. 6 – 17, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday

Dec. 25 and Jan.1, 2020 - Closed

Cranston Marche 

Please visit online at fsa.fredonia.edu for hours of operation.

Tim Hortons will be closing on Friday, Dec. 20 and will re-open on Monday, Jan. 20.

Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 meal plans are not active during the semester break; however, a J-75 Meal Plan will be available for students enrolled in J-Term. A J-75 plan functions for the J-Term session only. Cash, check, major credit cards, Fredonia Debit Accounts and FREDFunds are accepted during the semester break at Starbucks, Cranston Marche, University Bookstore and the Convenience Store.

The FSA Office will close at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 20 and will reopen on Monday, Jan. 6, 2020 at 8 a.m.


Garage/Automotive Services

Open:   Normal Hours – Dec. 23, 24, 26, 27, 30, 31

Mailroom

Open:   Dec. 23 and 27, 8 a.m. – Noon

Note: Mail must be to the mailroom by 11:15 a.m. for same day processing to the post office. No departmental mail deliveries or departmental mail pickups will be held during the shutdown.

Registrar’s Office

Final grades are due at 11:50 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 26 through Your Connection.

Residence Halls

The Residence Halls will close on Saturday, Dec. 21 and will re-open Sunday, Jan. 19. J-Term housing is available. Students should contact the Office of Residence Life at 716-673-3341 to request the J-Term housing application.

Paycheck Distribution

State Payroll - Professional staff, faculty and graduate assistant payroll checks dated 12/24/19 will be put in the mail on Monday, 12/23/19. It’s not too late to sign up for direct deposit! Completed forms must be turned in to the Payroll Office, Maytum Hall Room 303, by close of business Wednesday, Dec. 11. Questions regarding direct deposit may be directed to Payroll Services at ext. 3775. 

Student and College Work Study Payroll – Paychecks/advices dated 12/19/19 will sent in the campus mail as usual on that day. It’s not too late to sign up for direct deposit! Completed forms must be turned in to the Payroll Office, 303 Maytum Hall, by close of business Friday, Dec. 6. Questions regarding direct deposit may be directed to Payroll Services at ext. 3775.
