Recipients of the 2023 Outstanding Administrative Service Awards are (from left to right): Karie Pencek, Donn Smeragliuolo, David Racker, Tammi Moloney and Jim O’Connor.

The 2023 Outstanding Administrative Service Awards have been presented to five SUNY Fredonia employees, whose collective service spans more than 70 years and all major departments within the Finance and Administration division. The awards highlight exemplary service that employees give to the campus.

Vice President for Finance and Administration Michael Kelly said,  “I am honored to give this award to the dedicated employees who often times work behind the scenes to get everything done. As an alum, I am proud to see all that the Fredonia employees accomplish to make this an exceptional place and I look forward to working together toward continued growth and success.”

Criteria for the award, now in its 21st year includes: outstanding Fredonia service attitude; creativity and resourcefulness in improving services; demonstrated team effort in everyday actions and positive attitude in dealing with students, faculty and staff.

Award recipients include:

  • Karie Pencek from the Faculty Student Association (FSA) Operational Services, is the Stockperson for the Bookstore and Cranston Marche. She began her career at FSA in August 2006. Ms. Pencek is a resident of Dunkirk, NY.
  • Donn Smeragliuolo a member of the Faculty Student Association (FSA) Professional Staff and Assistant Manager of the Bakeshop and Commissary. He began his career in FSA in February 2012. Mr. Smeragliuolo is a resident of Lily Dale, NY.
  • David Racker from Custodial Services and a Cleaner in Thompson Hall, began his career at SUNY Fredonia in January 2019. Mr. Racker is a resident of Dunkirk, NY.
  • Tammi Moloney from Administrative Support, is the Payroll Examiner 2 in Payroll Services. She began her career at SUNY Fredonia in February 2007 as a Keyboard Specialist 1 in Payroll Services. Ms. Moloney is a resident of South Dayton, NY.
  • Jim O’Connor from Professional Trades, is a Plumber and Steamfitter. He began his career at SUNY Fredonia in November 2000 as a Plant Utilities Assistant. Mr. O’Connor is a resident of Silver Creek, NY.

Yoga to resume first week of the semester
