Adam Giel has been selected for a prestigious Educational Fellowship at the Archie Bray Foundation for the Ceramic Arts.

The senior, a double major in Ceramics and Animation & Illustration, is graduating in December. One month later, Adam begins his residency.

The Archie Bray is a renowned, long-standing program for ceramic artists that has emphasized creative autonomy, community, and innovation since 1951. The highly competitive fellowship is seen as a career steppingstone for emerging artists and will almost guarantee Adam admittance into a competitive M.FA. program in Ceramics. The foundation is based in Helena, MT.

According to the foundation’s website, “The Bray’s Educational Fellowship is an educational program designed to facilitate hands-on learning while providing space and time for emerging professionals to investigate their career goals and further their artistic practice."

Adam said he "feels well prepared by his VANM [Visual Arts and New Media] professors and is excited about this opportunity."

Ceramics Associate Professor Hide Sadohara is proud of Adam's accomplishments and said that he is looking forward to following Adam's artistic career after he graduates from Fredonia.
