Four Regional qualifiers at RIT

The duo of Nick Abdo and Toby Onuoha continued to turn in strong performances at RIT on Jan. 27.

Abdo came in first in the 200 yard dash and put up NCAA Regional qualifying times in the 200, the 60, and as part of the 1600m relay. Onuoha ran with Abdo in the 1600, while qualifying for the Regional in the triple jump.

In the 60, Abdo turned in identical times of 7.10 in the prelims and finals, finishing second. He took first in the 200 in a time of 22.58. Both times were personal bests.  He finished the night with a first in the relay with a time of 3:25.24, over two seconds faster than second-place RIT. He partnered with Onuoha, Josh Walters, and Nick Marsowicz.

Onuoha was second in the triple jump with a distance of 44'4 ¾'', good enough for second place. He finished fourth in the high jump at 5'11 ¼''.

Josh Walters was the other Devil to earn a first place, winning the 1000m run in 2:41.09.

The Fredonia State men's track and field team had a strong showing this weekend at Westminster. The meet featured a number of Division I, II, and III schools. Cameron Sample had the top individual performance, a fourth place in the triple jump, and the 4x100 relay team took first place.
