Fredonia alumnus to give organ recital Friday at King Concert Hall

Organist and alumnus Roland E. Martin

Roland E. Martin, who serves on the music faculty at the University at Buffalo and is a graduate of Fredonia, will return to campus to present an organ recital at King Concert Hall on Friday, Aug. 30, at 8 p.m.

Mr. Martin has given organ recitals throughout the United States, including at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., as well as in Canada, Spain, Germany, Austria and England. He will be accompanied at the Fredonia recital by guest artist and baritone Robert E. Gerst.

Martin teaches organ, piano and harpsichord at the University at Buffalo and is also a faculty member at Buffalo Seminary and Daemen College. He is director of music at St. Joseph University Parish, Buffalo, and assistant music director and accompanist for the Chautauqua Chamber Singers.

Martin received undergraduate and master’s degrees in music at Fredonia

The recital is free and open to the public.
