Four-time All-SUNYAC selection Rob Herrmann garnered one more accolade from his playing days as a Blue Devil. The conference announced the SUNYAC All-Decade Team, and Herrmann earned the nod as a catcher.

"It's great to be thought of a decade after being out of the SUNYAC," said Herrmann. "A lot of my favorite memories playing baseball were from playing at Fredonia and in the SUNYAC."

Herrmann was a mainstay behind the plate for the Blue Devils during a four-year collegiate career which ended in 2010. He began playing in 2007 and earned Second Team All-SUNYAC honors as a freshman. He was also 2008 and 2009 Second Team before earning 2010 First Team honors his senior year.

"Rob was a huge part of our success for his four seasons," said head coach Matt Palisin. "He was the top defensive catcher in the conference, in my opinion, and he anchored the middle of our order. He was one of the smartest players I have coached. His preparation away from the field is what really set him apart."

Herrmann finished college career ranked among the Top 5 among the Blue Devils' all-time leaders in doubles, hits, runs, and batting average. Defensively, he dominated the run game, gunning down 18 of 28 (65 percent) would-be base-stealers as a senior. As a junior, Herrmann's reputation preceded him -- only six times did runners attempt to run on him during conference play.

Following his graduation in 2010, he continued playing professionally for five seasons in the United States, Australia, and Europe. In his first season professionally, he was selected as a Pecos League all-star while batting well over .300 for the Las Cruces Vaqueros. He later moved overseas and was named as an all-star in all three seasons he played in Europe. He was invited to catch for the International Stars at Prague Baseball Week in 2012 and 2013, helping the team to back-to-back titles.

Herrmann currently resides in Colorado and runs his own photography business, Rob Herrmann Photography.
