Kurbs, Serafin win Dave Labor events

Fredonia women won two events Saturday at the Dave Labor Invitational outdoor track and field meet, hosted by Slippery Rock University.

Hannah Kurbs ran the 5,000 meters in 18:44.91, first among 34 women. Cassie Serafin won the triple jump with a measurement of 10.93 meters.

Maddie Sohl, had personal-best triple jump of 10.59 meters, good for fourth place behind her teammate. Emily Fish also had a personal-best in the 400 meters as did Morgan Ashton in the 400-meter hurdles.

Season-bests were recorded by Emily Maguire in the 800 meters and Abriel Andrews in the hammerthrow.

The Fredonia State baseball team extended its win streak to four games with 10-4 and 5-4 wins over visiting Hilbert College on Monday. Christian Pagano connected for a two-run homerun in Game 1, his third in as many games. Alex Gannon added a two-run blast of his own in the opener.

Day 2 results at Cortland

The 4x100 relay team took third place, and turned in a AARTFC qualifying time on the second day of the Cortland Classic on Saturday. Jacob Winn -- a member of the relay team -- also turned in a third place in the finals of the 100m dash.
