Students majoring in biological sciences can learn about research and study abroad opportunities with Department of Biology faculty, and also enjoy pizza and be eligible for prizes, on Wednesday, March 6, beginning at 5 p.m., at the Science Center atrium.

The unique “Pizza with the Biology Faculty” will open in the Kelly Family Auditorium with faculty members giving brief presentations on their respective research projects. Everyone will then be invited to the adjoining atrium for free pizza, refreshments and informal discussion. Students can talk to faculty and senior-level research students about their current projects and also become eligible to win treats and special prizes, such as root beer floats, brownies and Fredonia water bottles.

Information on the study abroad experience in Honduras, led by Dr. Ted Lee, will also be offered.

Applications for fellowships to support students who perform summer research work are available.

Professional schools and graduate programs encourage prospective applicants to perform research to supplement what they learn in classroom and lab settings.

The biology faculty/pizza gathering is supported through the generosity of the Holmberg Foundation in Jamestown.
