The Fredonia State Men's Hockey Team (1-1-0) picked up its first win of the season on the second day of the Bengal Classic. The Blue Devils topped Albertus Magnus (0-2-0) 4-0 on Oct. 30.

Fredonia used balance scoring from four different players and recorded goals in all three periods to contribute to the win.

The Blue Devils got the scoring going early, putting away their first goal 3:46 into the game. Gregg Lee (Aliso Vejo, Calif.) recorded the goal, finishing the Ethan Kirbis (Clarence), Craig McCabe (Webster) helper.

The second period goal came from Bryce Witman (Reading, Pa.), while Matt Letmanski (Wheaton, Ill.) and Parker Brakebill (Yorba Linda, Calif.) recorded an assist on the play.

The third period saw the Devils score two goals. The first came on a power play from David Sudbrink (Nolensville, Tenn.). Kirbis and Brakebill each picked up another assist on the play.

The final goal of the game came with just under four minutes to play. Anders Johnson (Salt Lake City, Utah) and Brendan Dempsey (Shelby Township, Mich.) set up the play and found Letmanski for the finish.

Logan Dyck (Calgary, Alberta) contributed to that unit, recording 29 saves over 60 minutes of play

Kirbis and Brakebill led the team with two points, each.

Fredonia State returns to action on Friday, Nov. 5. The home opener is set for 7 p.m. against Trine.
