Freshman Karli Murray (Cheektowaga/Maryvale) was named Second Team All-SUNYAC this past week after an outstanding first-year performance.

Murray, the team's leadoff hitter, led the Devils in nearly every offensive category, including a .340 batting average, 36 hits, 23 runs, 12 walks, 7 doubles, 9 stolen bases, and a .405 on-base percentage.

In the team's biggest win of the year, a 3-0 win over No. 1 seed Cortland, Murray scored two of the team's three runs and figured in a game-ending double play.

"Karli is one of the most athletic players I have ever coached," said head coach Tony Ciccarello. "So many things come naturally and if she works hard to improve her skill level she can be one of Fredonia's best. She also works hard in the classroom which is shown by her first-year GPA."

Murray helped lead the Devils to a SUNYAC Tournament berth this past season.
