“One of my favorite things about Fredonia is the strong sense of community,” Riordan remarked. “Whether it’s within the School of Music, the residence halls or student organizations, people here really support one another.
“I also love the vibrant arts culture on campus. There’s always music, performances or creativity happening somewhere. And overall, Fredonia feels like a place where you can grow, get involved and truly belong,” Riordan said.
Riordan’s “immediate goal” for this academic year is to have a successful student teaching placement in the spring term and continue growing as an educator.
“After completing my bachelor’s degree, I plan to pursue my master’s [degree] at Fredonia through the multi-award Mus.B./M.M. program in Music Education. Long-term, I hope to teach elementary general music and choir,” she said.
Riordan was nominated by University Commons and Gregory Hall Residence Director Jacob Steinhoff. His praise of her includes always looking to improve upon ideas within her hall.
“She also looks at the small details to ensure things run smoothly and efficiently. Grace’s ability to be professional, consistent and outgoing has paved the way for a positive experience for many students,” Mr. Steinhoff said.
