In a message to campus, President Kolision noted that Sept. 11 will mark the 20th Anniversary of the devastating terrorist attacks that occurred on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001 (9/11). "The four coordinated terrorist attacks changed America, and the world, forever."

In remembrance of all those killed in the attacks on 9/11, SUNY Fredonia will hold a brief ceremony at the outdoor Lake Shore Savings Clock Tower, within Symphony Circle, near Thompson Hall, on Friday, Sept. 10 at 8:30 a.m.  Following the ceremony, the campus chimes will ring 20 times at or about 8:46 a.m.

Those who have lost an immediate family member on 9/11, and would like to share their name for the remembrance ceremony, are asked to please email the President’s Office before Friday, Sept. 3, with the name of the family member.

President Kolison added, “I hope you will join me at this brief ceremony and in listening to the 20 chimes to honor the nearly 3,000 lives lost in the 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and aboard United Flight 93.”
