The SUNY Fredonia Counseling Center will host its inaugural Mental Health Conference on Monday, Nov. 2.

The theme of the conference, to be conducted in partnership with the campus Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion; Hope Chautauqua, and Prevention Works, is, “Breaking the Silence: Mental Wellness for Every Identity.”

The event will be held in the Williams Center Multipurpose Room from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

The conference is dedicated to raising awareness, reducing stigma, and sharing culturally relevant strategies that support mental health, healing, and well-being across diverse identities. It will bring together students, faculty, staff, and community members to engage in meaningful dialogue, exchange knowledge, and explore practices that promote inclusive and equitable mental health support.

Members of the campus community are invited to participate by attending the conference and by submitting proposals to present. Those interested are asked to access the online Call for Proposals.

The deadline for proposals is Friday, May 1. Registration will be announced at a later date. CEU/CPPS credits will be available as will scholarship opportunities for registration.

For questions regarding the conference or proposal submissions,  contact Ivory Brooks, LMFT or Dr. Vicki T. Sapp via email at MentalHealthConf@fredonia.edu.
