The Veterans Remembrance Ceremony will be held at the Williams Center Multipurpose Room on Friday, Nov. 12, at 3:30 p.m., to remember, honor and show gratitude to the countless men and women who have served the United States through branches of the armed forces.

A highlight of the annual event is the presentation of Courage & Honor and Enrollment and Student Services scholarships to students.

Recipients of the Courage and Honor Scholarship are: Barbara Colt, a senior Political Science major from Brocton, and Mikayla Reynolds, a senior Spanish major from Fredonia.

Recipients of the Enrollment and Student Services Scholarship are: Rachael Cunningham, junior, Political Science, Westfield; Levi Dowd, senior, Music Education, Fair Haven, N.Y.; Julia McCabe, senior, Communication Disorders and Sciences, Angola; Christina Peterson, junior, Communication: Public Relations, Williamsville; and Dylan Skalman, senior, Molecular Genetics, Lockport.

The Fallen Stars Memorial Mural and Display, featuring service men and women from New York who died in Iraq and Afghanistan, will also be exhibited. It includes the photos, names, hometowns, ranks and branches of service of the 321 men and women from New York who died in service in Iraq and Afghanistan. The memorial was brought to Fredonia by one of its creators, alumnus Raymond Lenarcic, '65, a History major from Herkimer.  He previously brought the mural to campus in 2015.

A moment of silence will be observed in recognition of American veterans for their service and sacrifice.

The ceremony is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

Those interested in the ceremony may also join virtually via Zoom online.
