The American Democracy Project is again partnering with the League of Women Voters of Chautauqua County to make voter registration more accessible to students.

“We’re hosting on-campus voter registration drives during the month of September. Each event gives students an opportunity to grab a voter registration form, scan a QR code to register online, ask questions about filling out the form, and find out how to submit the form,” said Department of Communication Associate Professor Angela McGowan-Kirsch, who serves as ADP chair.

On-campus voter registration drives will be held on the following dates and at the locations indicated:

•    Tuesday, Sept. 12: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; outside McEwen Hall under the radio station;
•    Wednesday, Sept. 13, 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.; outside Williams Center Room S204;
•    Wednesday, Sept. 20, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; outside the Williams Center by the FRED sign;
•    Wednesday, Sept. 27, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; outside of University Commons.

Those students who are New York state residents can find out if they are registered to vote online. Students can also register to vote online.

“As the newest voting members of our democracy, it’s important that Fredonia students have access to the tools they need to be prepared to vote in the upcoming elections,” commented Dr. McGowan-Kirsch.

Voter registration forms and a QR code to the voter registration form will be available at all upcoming ADP events.
