Former Fredonia State baseball standout Patrick Sheehan (West Seneca, N.Y. / Orchard Park) signed a contract with the independent New Hampshire Wild of the Empire Professional Baseball League in June.

Sheehan, an All Conference performer as a Blue Devil, is putting up solid numbers. In 24 games played, Sheehan is batting .359 with 16 RBI as the Wild's starting catcher. He was named the starting catcher in the league's All Star game on July 21st.

The Wild are 18-11 and in second place in the league. The league features a team from Puerto Rico, and Sheehan spent a week on the island taking on the Puerto Rico Islanders.

Patrick is the first Devil to sign a pro contract since Connor Lorenzo signed with the Sante Fe Fuego of the Pecos league in 2015. Patrick's brother Brian signed with the Florence Freedom of the Frontier League in 2013.

Sheehan was one of the top catchers in the SUNYAC as a four-year member of the team, graduating in 2018. He served as an assistant coach for the Devils this past season.
