The Fredonia State men's track and field team had its final tune-up before the SUNYAC Meet, taking part in the University of Rochester Spring Twilight Meet. Quillan Shimp took the podium, finishing first place in the 400m hurdles. Jordan Lockett turned in the next-best finish, taking fourth of 31 runners in the 200m run.

The SUNYAC Meet will take place next Friday and Saturday on May 3 and 4.

Relay sets school mark

The 4 x 100 relay team of Cameron Sample, Jordan Lockett, Jacob Winn, and Nick Marsowicz set a new Fredonia State outdoor record, finishing the race in 42.19 seconds. It was a regional-qualifying time, and .17 seconds behind the first-place Cortland team.

Pellechia earns fourth SUNYAC title

For the fourth time in four tries, pole vaulter Cara Pellechia can call herself a SUNYAC Champion. Pellechia cleared 3.50m to take the outdoor title at the SUNYAC Meet on Friday.
