Smith appointed board secretary of UFVA

Associate Professor Ros Smith

Department of Communication Associate Professor Ros Smith has been named secretary of the board of directors of the University Film and Video Association.

Her four-year appointment, made by board and association members, will become official at a remote board meeting on Aug. 1.

Ms. Smith has belonged to the association for nearly 30 years. It will be her first term as a member of the board.

The UFVA is an academic association dedicated to the study of media. Among its goals are developing the potential of motion picture and television media for instruction and communication throughout the world and encouraging film and video production at educational institutions. It is affiliated with the International Association of Film and Television Schools North America.
