Thompson Hall, where support group meetings for stroke and head injury survivors are held
Support group meetings for stroke and head injury survivors will return this summer at SUNY Fredonia.
The Henry C. Youngerman Center for Communication Disorders will conduct support group meetings on Tuesday, June 17, and July 15. Both sessions begin at 3 p.m. and will be held in Thompson Hall Room E148.
A typical group meeting includes activities to help stroke/head injury survivors use compensatory strategies to improve communication skills and provide educational information and an opportunity to socialize and share experiences. Light refreshments will be provided.
The Youngerman Center recognizes that there are individuals in the community whose insurance benefit for therapy has been exhausted, but their hopes for improvement have not. Please contact Julie Williams, coordinator, at (716) 673-4618 for more information about attending the group.
