Undergraduate Jakob Cullen has completed a Studio Assistant Fellowship at the prestigious Haystack Mountain School of Crafts.

A double B.F.A. major (Ceramics and Animation & Illustration), Mr. Cullen assisted famed studio potter Masa Sasaki in Haystack’s ceramics studio.

"I loved the experience of working in a studio with people from different backgrounds and locations, making connections,” explained Cullen, a senior from Warwick, NY, who is scheduled to graduate in December. “I learned about being a studio artist and a bit about how a non-profit arts space is run."

“Haystack fellowships are competitive and highly sought after. Cullen’s excellent ceramic work and work ethic gave him the edge he needed to receive the honor,” said Associate Professor Peter Tucker.

Haystack is located along the coast of Maine in Deer Isle.
