SUNYAC honors Amthor, Krasnek as Men's Swimming & Diving Athletes of the Week

The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected Brockport's Brandon Amthor (Hamlin/Brockport) as the Men's Swimmer of the Week and Fredonia's Christian Krasnek (Springville/Springville Griffith Institute) as the Men's Diver of the Week.

Krasnek won both boards at the Fredonia Invitational, winning the 1-meter with a score of 432.90 points and the 3-meter with a score of 481.60 points.

Amthor was strong at the Fredonia Invitational, finishing first in both of his races. He placed first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.52 and first place in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 44.46

The Fredonia State baseball team extended its win streak to four games with 10-4 and 5-4 wins over visiting Hilbert College on Monday. Christian Pagano connected for a two-run homerun in Game 1, his third in as many games. Alex Gannon added a two-run blast of his own in the opener.

Day 2 results at Cortland

The 4x100 relay team took third place, and turned in a AARTFC qualifying time on the second day of the Cortland Classic on Saturday. Jacob Winn -- a member of the relay team -- also turned in a third place in the finals of the 100m dash.

After qualifying for the finals on Friday, Cara Pellechia finished fourth in the 100m dash, and also turned in a fifth-place finish in the 200m for the top two finishes for the Fredonia State women's track and field team.
