SUNY Fredonia was tied for 16th among the top public schools in the North in the 2021 edition of U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Colleges.”

In the larger category of both public and private institutions in the North, SUNY Fredonia tied for 67th in the “Best Regional Universities,” which the magazine defines as those offering primarily bachelor’s and master’s degrees.

Among northern regional universities, Fredonia was also ranked 53rd in the Best Value Schools category, tied for 26th in Top Performers on Social Mobility and tied for 37th in Best Colleges for Veterans.

President Stephen H. Kolison Jr. noted, “Fredonia's U.S. News and World Report rankings demonstrate the strength of our faculty, professional staff, and of course, our terrific student body. SUNY Fredonia represents a tremendous value to students and families.” 

SUNY Fredonia has been ranked as a Best College every year since 1989.
